The entryway is the first part of the home’s interior people see as they enter. It makes sense, therefore, to paint the entryway. Accompanied by the right décor your guests will be favorably impressed. This is definitely an area of the home to consider renovating if you frequently entertain guests.
Colors to Consider
Entryways vary significantly in size. Regardless of the layout, a novel paint color is a great way to make a dramatic change. Some of our past clients have chosen a plain eggshell white. While this is a safe color, our interior painters recommend a shade like grey or blue for creating a more welcoming space. Deep, rich colors like these are especially useful for a small entryway. They create a comfortable and cozy environment.
If, on the other hand, your entryway is dark and receives little natural light, then go for a bold color like red. Of course, there are various shades to select from. We recommend cherry red or a red that leans toward a berry color.
For larger entryways with a high ceiling, you have a little more leeway. One option we particularly like is charcoal gray or navy blue with a white trim.
Another bold idea is to consider idea paint. Some of our clients actually requested it; this way, they can leave notes for their loved ones on the wall as they leave the home.
Finally, if your entryway leads right into a staircase, then we also recommend painting the stairway. This draws the eyes towards the stairs, which subsequently helps draw them into the rest of the home.
